Event Description
Blue Zones Project Palm Springs Flourish: An Edible Garden Workshop Part 2
Connect with your community and transform Prescott Preserve’s wildlife corridor with Flourish, a 6-week, edible garden workshop series.
Join us for the second round of Flourish, a 6-week, edible garden workshop series designed to connect people, purpose, and place. In partnership with Blue Zones Project Palm Springs and Oswit Land Trust, the series blends the core principles of the Blue Zones Power 9®—natural movement, eating wisely, and creating a sense of belonging—with Oswit Land Trust’s mission to restore and protect the vital wildlife corridor of the Prescott Preserve.
During this interactive workshop, participants will help plant and cultivate a native garden that supports local flora and fauna. Guided by conservation experts, you’ll learn practical ways to incorporate sustainable, desert-friendly gardening practices while contributing to the long-term health of our shared landscape.
Participants will be provided with plants, soil, and gardening tools, and on the first day a complimentary Blue Zones Project water bottle and healthy snack. A hat, gardening gloves, and sunscreen is highly recommended. Participation is required for all Wednesday events, featuring:
February 25: Guided Hike through Prescott Preserve
March 4: Blue Palo Verde Planting
March 11: Creosote Bush Planting
March 18: California Barrel Cactus Planting
March 25: Honey Mesquite Planting
April 1: Guided Hike and Culinary Celebration, featuring a featuring a variety of the wildlife corridor native plants that will be incorporated into a series of spectacular dishes to enjoy on-site, picnic-style.
