Joan Varini, MFA, ERYT, CWHC
Joan’s journey to well-being began in childhood. Growing up with asthma, she found freedom and healing in movement—hiking, biking, swimming, and skiing, all of which helped strengthen her lungs and sparked a lifelong connection to nature, which continues to ground and inspire her. That early connection to breath eventually led Joan to yoga and mindfulness, deepening her awareness of the mind-body connection.
Over time, personal challenges—including periods of depression—taught Joan the transformative power of vulnerability, self-awareness, and emotional honesty. Joan’s curiosity about healing and human experience led her to study various cultural approaches to well-being.
Food and family also shaped her values— teaching Joan that nourishment is about more than just meals; it’s about care, connection, and community.
Today, Joan holds space for others to slow down, listen inwardly, and reconnect—with nature, with truth, and with themselves on their wellbeing journey. If you’re looking for grounded, compassionate guidance on your own path to wholeness, Joan and Blue Zones Health are here for you.
Yasi Massih, DrPH, MPH, INHC
Yasi is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach with a background in public health, but at her core, she is someone who simply cares deeply about people—about helping you feel your best, find your balance, and build a life that supports your health in a real, lasting way. Yasi’s path to this work became personal after losing her mother to breast cancer at a young age. That experience shaped how she sees health—not just as the absence of illness, but as the presence of joy, energy, and connection. Yasi believes it’s not just about living longer, but about living well—with purpose, vitality, and ease.
Yasi specializes in nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management, and works every day to bring those same values into her own life with her husband and three kids. She enjoys cooking plant-based meals, being active— whether it’s running, hiking, or playing tennis—and always learning something new about health. Well-being isn’t about being perfect—it’s about learning to care for yourself with consistency and love. If you’re looking for support to start your journey toward health, vitality and wellbeing, Yasi and Blue Zones Health would be honored to walk alongside you.
